Mount Lowry

After NZART conference and before I had a meeting with the ELectricity Networks Association in Wellington, I took the option of getting a couple of summits activated. Lowry was a new one so I was looking forward to it. Earlier in the day the weather had not been looking good but as it rolled into mid afternoon it looked more promising. The walk up was good, the track is well formed and not to steep. Near the top you cross a fence and there is signage pointing you in the right direction. Not to far to the top from here.

From the top I made 8 contacts. I started on 14 MHz and worked ZL2ATH first (local) and 3 x VKs including VK3BCM from VK3/WE-081. Switched to 5 MHz and made another 4 contacts. I then decended and made it out just before darkness fell. This summit is a good summit for an afternoon leg stretch and I would definitely do it again.
